A teenager was removed from a town centre roof and arrested following a reported assault more than a mile away.
Police shut off part of Ashford’s Lower High Street at about 8pm yesterday evening.
About 90 minutes earlier, they had been alerted to an assault inside a building in Roderick Kalberer Place on Repton Park estate at 6.30pm.
The victim is understood to have suffered minor injuries, but the suspect had fled the scene when officers arrived.
Later in the evening, officers cordoned off a large section of the Lower High Street after a teenage girl was spotted on the roof of a building.
She was removed from the rooftop with the help of firefighters before being taken to hospital, and was later arrested on suspicion of assault and public order offences.
