Those of you hoping to see Karl Urban’s Johnny Cage fight in the next few months have just gotten a fatality. Mortal Kombat II , which originally had a scheduled release date of October 24 of this year, will move forward nearly seven months to May 8, 2026. That date was initially May 15, so at least this latest change is a positive one.

This comes according to The Hollywood Reporter . It definitely seemed quite soon for the sequel to 2021’s reboot. Soon in the sense that we just had the first trailer a little over a month ago . New Line is hoping to see similar success with a mid-May release that they achieved with this year’s Final Destination: Bloodlines .
