CANTON, Ohio — Two Canton women are facing murder charges after a man was killed earlier this year.

Police say Jerry L. Morris, 54, was found dead in Akron on Aug. 1, but investigators from both the Canton and Akron police departments later determined that the killing occurred in Canton.

On Oct. 21, Canton police, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Task Force, arrested Yolanda R. Lowery, 54, and her mother, Dorothy Lowery, 70, at their Canton home.

Both women are now being held at the Stark County Jail.

During an arraignment hearing on Oct. 23, a $1 million bond was set for Yolanda. She has a status conference hearing on Oct. 28, at 10:30 a.m.
