Morristown East and Jefferson County meet in Burke-Toney Stadium on Friday night, heading in two different directions.

After a season-opening win against South Greene, the ‘Canes (1-8, 0-3 Region 1-6A) are in the midst of an eight-game losing streak and have been eliminated from the playoffs. Friday’s contest will mark the end of the ‘Canes season as a result of their open date falling on the last week of the regular season.

The ‘Canes have an opportunity to tie with West Ridge, who shut out East last week, for the fourth spot in the region with a win on Friday, but the Wolves would hold the tiebreaker for the final playoff spot due to their better record.
