Hamilton have been slapped with a six point deduction for breaching multiple SPFL rules. ‌

Accies have also been fined £22,000 following a disciplinary tribunal which found them guilty of breaking rules while under a transfer embargo, with £3,000 of that suspended. ‌

The six point deduction comes as a massive blow to John Rankin's title hopes and sees them drop from top spot in the third tier to mid-table, having been level on points with Stenhousemuir at the summit. ‌

They have also been deducted a point from their KDM Evolution Trophy league phase total so far.

A SPFL statement read: "Hamilton Academical Football Club (the “Club”) have today (22 October) received points deductions and been fined £22,000 after the Club was found to have breached multiple SPFL Rule
