A state police cruiser and an Enfield police SUV were struck by a driver while they were at the scene of a car fire on Interstate 91 on Tuesday night.

The collisions occurred on the southbound side of the highway in the area of Exit 42 around 11 p.m., according to Connecticut State Police and the Enfield Police Department .

While crews were at the scene of the car fire, a driver headed south struck the rear of the state police cruiser and an Enfield police SUV, police said. The trooper and the officer were not in either of the vehicles, according to police. They were not injured.

The driver suffered minor injuries, state police said.
