Livingston captain Ryan McGowan has revealed he was hospitalised for over three weeks after suffering a 'severe infection'.
The defender has not featured for the Scottish Premiership side since September.
McGowan, who was given the armband in the summer, has missed each of Livi's last four league matches.
However, he has now provided fans with an update on his fitness after leaving hospital.
The Australian had been left needing an operation as a result of his infection, which required hospitalisation.
Meanwhile, he also revealed that he lost 7kg during almost a month in hospital.
Taking to social media, McGowan posted a series of snaps showing himself in his hospital bed as well as his swollen leg.
