BLOOMINGTON ( 25News Now ) - Part of a county auditor’s job is to make sure that financial reports happen and become public when they should. Community and county board members allege that McLean County Auditor Michelle Anderson isn’t doing her job.

The audit is usually submitted to the county board in June, but according to board president Elizabeth Johnston , “A pattern has been established that the external audit is completed increasingly later each year.”

Johnston said that because the 2024 external audit was passed so late, they’ve had to dip into their reserves to get bills paid.

“The County received information from CLA, our outside accounting firm, that the audit would not be completed by deadline in June because they did not have all the information from the County Auditor
