Bhubaneswar: The well-marked low pressure area over the north coastal Tamil Nadu is unlikely to strengthen further, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Wednesday evening.
“The system over southwest Bay of Bengal off Tamil Nadu coast moved nearly northwestwards across north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & south Andhra Pradesh coasts and was over the north coastal Tamil Nadu and neighbourhood at 5.30 pm on October 22,” it said. ADVERTISEMENT
The Met office further stated that it is likely to move west-northwestwards across north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh and weaken into a low-pressure area during the next 24 hours.
