Costco officially plans to open its much-anticipated Muskegon County store a few days before Halloween.

Opening date and location

The new Costco Warehouse will open to the public at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29. It is located at 6110 S. Harvey St. in Fruitport Township, just south of the Lakes Mall.

First Costco in Muskegon County

This will be the first-ever Costco location in Muskegon County, saving local shoppers a significant drive. Previously, the nearest stores were in Wyoming and Grand Rapids, approximately 35 miles away.

Store size and amenities

The 152,000-square-foot warehouse will feature a full range of specialty departments. These include a gas station, bakery, deli, optical department, food court and a tire cent
