WASHINGTON — Winn-Dixie will sell or close dozens of stores in the South as its owner, Southeastern Grocers, undergoes a rebrand.

Southeastern Grocers, which owns Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket, announced Tuesday that it would change its name to The Winn-Dixie Company in early 2026 as it renews its focus in Florida. The grocer also intends to sell or close 32 Winn-Dixie stores and eight Harveys Supermarket locations outside of Florida.

The locations listed include stores in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. Store closings or sales are expected to be completed by the end of the year, according to a press release.
