A major controversy has erupted in South Tripura following allegations that police lathi-charged students of Ramraibari High School in Jolaibari on Wednesday during a protest demanding the withdrawal of transfer orders for two teachers. According to eyewitnesses, several students were injured when police allegedly used force to disperse the demonstrators. Reports indicate that over 12 students sustained injuries and were taken to the Ramraibari Primary Health Centre for treatment.

However, the Tripura Police have officially denied these allegations. In a press release issued by the Office of the Director General of Police, the department stated that claims of police using force were incorrect and not based on facts.
