A shop-lifter was arrested by police after asking officers to look inside his bag that was hiding an eight-inch knife.
Michael Haddon, 37, was approached by a police community support officer (PCSO) outside a Morrisons store where had acted aggressively towards a security guard, police say.
When questioned whether he'd taken anything, Haddon replied no and invited the PCSO to check his bag.

Inside, officers found a large kitchen knife that was eight-inches in length.
Haddon was arrested and taken into custody following the incident on Goose Street in Newcastle-under-Lyme, in September this year.
