State Assemblymember Deborah Glick, who has represented parts of Lower Manhattan in Albany for more than three decades, will not run for re-election in 2026.

Glick, 74, one of the longest-serving members of the Assembly, announced her decision in a statement Wednesday. She said she can’t guarantee that she will be able to devote 100% of her energy to the job beyond the end of her term next year.

The Democrat from Greenwich Village became the first openly LGBT member of the Legislature after first winning a seat in 1990. She’s been re-elected 17 times since.

“It has been a difficult decision at this time, and the time may never be right, but my constituents deserve a representative who can work hard every day for them,” Glick said in her statement.
