RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A pedestrian using a wheelchair was killed after being hit by a car on Midlothian Turnpike early Wednesday morning.
At 4:55 a.m. on Oct. 22, officers with the Richmond Police Department responded to a report of a collision in the 6900 block of Midlothian Turnpike.
Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious man in the roadway. Police said he was struck by a white sedan. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the victim was operating a motorized wheelchair at the time of the incident. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.
Their identities were not immediately available.
