ST ALBANS, Maine — A St. Albans man has been sentenced to jail and probation after pleading guilty to unlawful sexual contact with a juvenile, according to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.

Nicholas Estes, 32, pleaded guilty Oct. 15 to one count of unlawful sexual contact, a Class D crime, the sheriff's office said in a press release . He was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with all but 50 days suspended, and one year of probation.

As conditions of his probation, Estes must complete a sexual offender evaluation, undergo counseling and treatment, have no contact with anyone under the age of 18, and have no contact with the victim, according to the sheriff's office. He is also required to register as a Tier 1 sex offender on the Maine Sex Offender Registry, officials said.
