NORWAY, Maine — A man who police say had been evading law enforcement for more than a year was taken into custody Tuesday following a lengthy standoff at a home in Norway.

Officers received credible information on the morning of Oct. 21 that Patrick McInnis was inside a residence at 168 Main Street, Norway Police Chief Jeffrey Campbell said in a social media post . McInnis was wanted on eight active arrest warrants and had been the subject of an ongoing fugitive investigation since 2024, the post stated.

Officers from the Norway, Rumford, and Oxford police departments, along with the Maine State Police, responded to the scene and secured the area. Main Street was closed between the intersections of Fair Street and Paris Street, and nearby homes and businesses were evacuated.
