KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Jerome Tang and the Kansas State Wildcats haven’t reached the NCAA Tournament in either of the last two seasons. They’re hopeful another prized portal find will help them do so.

Tang and his staff dipped into the transfer portal this spring to find former Memphis guard P.J. Haggerty, who was the American Athletic Conference Player of the Year while leading the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament last season.

Tang isn’t shy to place expectations upon his new lead guard.

“I think P.J. Haggerty is the best point guard in America,” Tang told reporters Wednesday at Big 12 Media Days. “And he’s learning to be a great leader.
