The Detroit Riverfront’s new Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park opens this weekend with a grand celebration marked by the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy’s annual Detroit Harvest Fest and Food Truck Rally. The weekend will showcase the 22-acre park with a series of live performances — headlined by the Jacksons — plus games, presentations, wellness classes, photo ops and lots of food.
“This is truly a historic event with the opening of this park… ” says Detroit Riverfront Conservancy CEO Ryan Sullivan. “It’s an incredible moment for our city, and we want to invite everyone to come be part of this historic celebration.”
The $80 million park, which overcame a $44.3 million scandal, began construction in 2022. It features the William Davidson Sport House, the 2.5-acre Huron-Clinton Metropar
