For the fifth year in a row, Madison County will be taking part in the nationwide Operation Green Light movement to honor the area's many veterans.

The initiative dedicates the period from now through November 4 as a time to salute their service and sacrifice. Citizens interested in taking part can display green lights in a window of their place of business or residence through Veterans Day.

As part of Operation Green Light, the Madison County Commission will be partnering with Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2702 (VFW Post 2702) to raise awareness about the many resources in Madison County available for veterans. VFW Post 7202 is the largest VFW Post in Alabama, with more than 500 members, and has contributed more than $200,000 in community service projects to the Huntsville and Madison C
