The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said after the death of Kimber Mills, 18, of Oneonta, the man accused of shooting her and three others is now charged with murder.
Steven Tyler Whitehead, 27, was initially charged with three counts of attempted murder. The additional murder charge carries no bond.
Whitehead is being held in the Jefferson County Jail.
The shooting occurred around 12:24 a.m. Sunday in the 7900 block of Highway 75 North, in Pinson. Investigators said a verbal and physical altercation escalated and resulted in shots being fired.
Mills was taken to UAB and died Tuesday after doctors determined she would not survive and harvested her organs.
