The National Lacrosse League is returning to Edmonton with the UnBOXed Series taking place in January.

The second annual event will be taking place on January 16 at Rogers place, with the Georgia Swarm taking home floor to the visiting Calgary Roughnecks.

The National Lacrosse League is North America’s largest professional box lacrosse league.

Edmonton had its own NLL team for almost a decade, before the Edmonton Rush moved to Saskatchewan to become the Saskatchewan Rush. Since then, the Calgary Roughnecks has been the only professional lacrosse team to play in Alberta.

The event aims to showcase lacrosse to another passionate sports market in North America, also celebrating the sport’s deep Canadian roots.

Tickets for the NLL UnBOXed Series will go on sale on Friday, October 24 at 10
