CLOUTIERVILLE, La. (KALB) - Residents in Cloutierville are calling on state leaders to fix Louisiana Highway 495 after saying the road has been ignored for years and has become unsafe.

A new petition on Change.org asks the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) to speed up repairs and make the project a higher priority.

Right now, the state plans to begin work on the road in June 2026, with an estimated cost of $1.35 million. However, residents worry that because the project is scheduled near the end of the fiscal year, it could get delayed or pushed back again.
