TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The Emergency Operations Center being built in Wakulla County is seeing progress.
The Wakulla County Board of Commissioners shared photo updates of the site on social media.
According to commissioners, the mason is preparing to top out the last course of block on the building and start the final bond beam.
Materials for the next phase of construction have already arrived, and contractors are preparing to start constructing the building.
The facility, announced earlier this year , will enhance the county’s emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
The $7.9 million project is being built across from the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office.
Construction is expected to be finished in July 2026.
