COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run that injured a pedestrian last month .

According to the Columbia Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit, the crash happened on September 29, 2025, at the intersection of Harden and Laurel Streets.

Investigators say Kian Mitchum, 19, is accused of failing to yield the right of way, striking a male pedestrian, and leaving the scene.

The victim was taken to a hospital following the collision and has since been treated and released, police said.

Mitchum is charged with Hit and Run, Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device, and Failure to Give Information and Render Aid.
