DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- A woman charged with obstruction after her son shot and killed a Darlington County sheriff's deputy in July has died, according to the 4th Circuit Solicitor's Office.

Linda Dennett, who was 77 at the time of her arrest, died at an assisted-living facility in North Carolina, the solicitor's office said. Her cause of death was not immediately available.

Linda Dennett was arrested on July 3, two days after authorities said her son, Cameron Dennett, ambushed and shot and killed 27-year-old deputy Devin Mason and injured another deputy. The shooting happened on Old Timers Court in the Lamar area.
