FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — More than $300 million in bonds will be decided by Fayetteville voters next year.
On Tuesday, the Fayetteville City Council approved the ballot language and set a date for a bond referendum with nine issues.
The proposed bonds would help fund water, sewer and transportation projects.
It will also add amenities to the city, such as upgrades to fire departments, a new animal shelter and a new aquatic center without raising sales taxes.
"This is not a tax increase; this is keeping with our current rate, but allowing us to really invest heavily into those much-needed items," Fayetteville Mayor Molly Rawn said.
The special election will be held on March 3.
