LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentuck and Indiana is in for a chilly wake-up call as the first frost of the season settles in Thursday night into Friday morning.
A strong push of cold, dry air will follow a midweek cold front, allowing temperatures to dip into the low to mid-30s across much of the region by daybreak Friday.
For many, this will mark the end of the growing season. If you still have any sensitive plants, this is your sign to bring them indoors or cover them up before the sun sets Thursday evening.
Rural and low-lying areas are especially likely to see frost and freeze develop, with the potential for a freeze in a few of the colder valleys of southern Indiana and north-central Kentucky.
