(NewsNation) — The Trump administration’s national crime and immigration crackdown is soon headed to San Francisco, which, despite reporting a drop in violent crime, is seeing drug use and homelessness take a toll on local neighborhoods.

A NewsNation source on Wednesday confirmed that more than 100 federal agents will arrive in San Francisco, which ranks 26th nationally in violent crime, as early as Thursday.

Local officials have been bracing for months that their city could be targeted by the Trump administration, but the source told NewsNation on Wednesday that federal officers, including those from Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, have been dispatched by the Trump administration to Coast Guard Base Alameda.
