EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — A significant piece of Evansville history will be highlighted with a special event next month.

The Veterans Memorial Coliseum in downtown Evansville is hosting its inaugural 1940s-inspired gala to support current restoration projects.

Organizers said the fundraiser will transport attendees with live big band music, period-inspired performances, dancing, and dinner, all in honor of those who've served and the historic venue that welcomed them home.

The event is scheduled for November 1 at 6 p.m. at the Old National Events Plaza.
