CHENEY, Wash. -- Veterans Memorial Park in Cheney was able to make its playground equipment a little more accommodating thanks to the help of a generous donor.
Last year, the Spokane Parks Foundation, Cheney Parks and Recreation and the . This included new paint, plumbing, roofing and freshly sanded and stained benches and tables.
At that time, plans for an adaptive swing had to be put on hold.
More recently, a donor has stepped forward to add an adaptive swing to the park.
This new swing is designed to accommodate people with disabilities as well as promote inclusive play.
"We are so grateful for the opportunity to ensure our parks are welcoming, inclusive, and fun for all," the Spokane Parks Foundation said in a Facebook post.
