Toys ‘R’ Us, the beloved toy retailer that filed for bankruptcy in 2018 and closed more than 700 stores — including two on Staten Island — has announced it will open eight new flagship locations and 20 seasonal sites this holiday season, an expansion that is part of a broader pattern of growth.
“Following the tremendous success of our Toys ’R’ Us flagship stores, we’re thrilled to continue expanding through our partnership with Go! Retail Group,” Jamie Uitdenhowen, executive vice president of Toys ‘R’ Us at WHP Global, noted in a press release. “This next phase of growth brings the magic of Toys ‘R’ Us to even more communities across the country — just in time for the holidays — and delivers the joyful shopping experience that has made us a trusted destination for generations.”
