When Purdue University’s Liam Murphy was interviewed by the Advance/SILive.com back in September, he stated the following concerning his first bucket in a Boilermakers uniform:

“If I had to bet on it, I’d say probably a nice three and hopefully the first one I put up,’' he said with a laugh. “And no rim.’'

The 6-foot-8 Murphy’s first shot attempt, indeed, was a left-wing three-point attempt that hit nothing but the bottom of the net during Purdue’s season-opening 82-51 non-conference victory over visiting Evansville at Mackey Arena on Tuesday.
