BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The preliminary hearing was held Wednesday morning for a man accused of shooting at a man at a mobile home park on State Road in August.

Kody Ellis, 35, is accused of shooting a man at a mobile home park at 6000 State Road on Aug. 25.

The area has been the site of several fires and alleged homicides over the past few months. A woman and two dogs were found dead in a trailer fire in May, and another woman was found dead in a fire on Aug. 8.

On Wednesday, prosecutor Spencer Scher brought Deputy Raul Nunez with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office as his witness.

Munez said he responded to 6000 State Road at around 7:15 a.m., Aug. 25, for a report of a shooting. He was given a photo of Ellis and headed to Kern Medical, where the victim had already been transported
