BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A pedestrian was killed in a suspected hit-and-run crash on Plank Road in East Baton Rouge Parish on Wednesday afternoon, Louisiana State Police said.

The crash occurred near the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, just east of the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport.

Trooper Shelby Mayfield, the Troop A Public Information Officer, said the call was received at 1:44 p.m. about a pedestrian who appeared to have been hit.

Nearly a dozen state police units were on the scene as of 3:15 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing. No information about a suspect vehicle or driver has been released.
