GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — A committee of lawmakers is being formed to discuss the future of Guilford County Rep. Cecil Brockman, according to a representative.
This comes after state leaders have publicly called for Brockman's resignation - including Governor Josh Stein and the North Carolina Democratic Party. He faces multiple child sex crime charges for his alleged involvement with a 15-year-old.
Brockman was arrested earlier this month and remains in custody on a more than $1 million bond. His future in the House of Representatives has been in question since then.
Brockman's next court date is scheduled for Nov. 13.
