Premier Doug Ford is considering taking a swing at ticket pricing after Blue Jays fans were stung by the high cost of aftermarket World Series seats.
“They’re gouging the people, when you have one player in the market that controls the tickets, that’s not right for the people,” said Ford, referring to Ticketmaster.
Resale ticket prices for the World Series games at Rogers Centre have soared with lower bowl seats going for as much as $10,000.
While Ontario previously had measures designed to curb ticket gouging, Ford’s Progressive Conservatives scrapped those protections in 2019. At the time, the government said they cancelled part of the law for being “unenforceable.” Provincial Politics
