WATERVILLE — A new organization is bringing together some of Maine’s longest-standing disability service providers — combining their resources to better support families across the state.
Hundreds of people from across Maine gathered in Waterville on Wednesday to celebrate the successful merger of three agencies — GMS, Uplift, and IAM — forming 3Rivers.
“3Rivers is an agency that was formed in July of this year,” said CEO Ann-Marie Mayberry. “We are an agency that was merged from three legacy agencies in the state of Maine — GMS, Uplift, and IAM.”
Before the merger, each organization independently provided services for people with disabilities. Mayberry says combining forces allows them to better navigate challenges like Medicaid cuts and limited funding.
