HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Detectives with the Houston Police Department are working to piece together a scene after they said a man was found dead inside a crashed vehicle with bullet holes.

HPD said officers were dispatched to a shooting call in the 7900 block of Comal Street at about 10:40 a.m. Tuesday. Once at the scene, police found the vehicle with the man inside.

According to officers, there was a gunfire exchange between the suspect and the victim, but police said they're still working to figure out what happened.

Additional information on who the other person involved was, or the identification of the man inside the vehicle, was not immediately released.
