GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Wednesday marks just over 24 hours remaining in the Coats for Kids campaign.

The Salvation Army is seeing an increase in kids needing coats this year, and a new report may have one of the reasons why.

The consulting firm Alix Partners released a report on Wednesday morning that shows a dramatic increase in the price of jackets and outerwear this year compared to last year.

Prices have risen 24% in 2025

Donated new or gently used coats will be distributed early next month, but the push is on, as Thursday is the final day to drop off donations.

You can do right here in the WBAY lobby, or at one of over 200 drop-off locations , plus an online shopping option to make it easier to keep kids in need warm this winter.
