The city’s updated 10-year capital plan contains a “modest” increase of a quarter-billion dollars.
Building everything included on the list is projected to cost $2.82 billion, up from the $2.56 billion total attached last year to the plan.
“This modest 10 per cent increase ($258M) accounts for expected changes such as inflationary construction cost increases, updated project budgets and timelines, and new emergent projects or projects with increased scope,” reads part of a report going to council on Monday.
Big-ticket items in the plan include the long-awaited extension of Clement Avenue from Spall Road to Highway 33, continuing expansion of the airport, two new parkades, and a new transit exchange near Orchard Park mall.
