AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - AT&T is launching a new app for first responders nationwide.

FirstNet Fusion is designed to allow every first responder to instantly talk, share video and communicate during emergencies, no matter what cell phone service they use.

This app will be offered on a subscription basis, with similar rates to what departments are currently paying for other technology.

One example of how FirstNet Fusion can impact the Panhandle is improving fire response.

With this technology, 911 operators send a link to the caller, who can subsequently upload a picture of the fire.
