PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- More than three years after a 39-year-old man was shot and killed in NE Portland, police have made an arrest in the case.

Portland man Justin Ortega-Mejia, 28, was lodged in the Multnomah County Detention Center on Wednesday and charged with second-degree murder.

Ortega-Mejia is accused of killing Mohamed Shaani on March 27, 2022. Shaani's family has been notified of the arrest.

Portland police say Shaani was shot several times near his car at NE Milton and 82nd.
