MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – The board of Project BEE, a former shelter in Minot, will forfeit a piece of land near its downtown Minot location, as part of an ongoing civil suit with Ward County.

Your News Leader reported in December 2024 that Ward County sought more than $1.3 million in damages from Project BEE. The county claimed the shelter received double funding for the completion of a multi-use family shelter across town that was later taken over by the city of Minot.

On Wednesday, Ward County Commissioner John Fjeldahl said the county agreed to acquire a piece of land south of their downtown Minot building, which could be used for parking purposes for the county.
