DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- Millions of American families are at risk of losing food stamps and food assistance next month amid the government shutdown. However, the Wiregrass Food Bank is here to help while many of our friends and neighbors are struggling financially.

While October SNAP benefits and food assistance were expected to receive continual funding, funding is uncertain, and states are advising those in need to contact local food banks for immediate assistance.
