LITTLE ROCK, Ark — On Wednesday morning, the Arkansas Department of Human Services released a statement warning of possible delays or disruptions to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, benefits.

"The benefits will not be coming if there is no end to the shutdown before November 1, so more than 220,000 families rely on SNAP every month in the state of Arkansas, and not receiving these benefits will pose a significant hardship for them," Arkansas DHS Secretary Janet Mann said.

The conversation has circulated among many in the community, like at Uncle T's Food Mart.

"I would say, probably maybe 75% of it, maybe 80, maybe a little bit more than that, majority of it, majority of it is EBT," Jamar Jones, an employee at Uncle T's, said.
