GRAND FORKS — The first time Ellis Rickwood was recruited, he made three visits in three days.
He hit Clarkson, Michigan State and Bowling Green.
"I remember how hard of a decision it was, because every spot felt like the spot," Rickwood said. "After thinking about it, Clarkson just felt right. It was a smaller town. I just had a really good vibe with the coaches there."
Rickwood spent three years at Clarkson, making a jump each season.
He had no goals and five assists as a rookie. He tallied four goals and nine points as a sophomore. Last season, he centered Clarkson's top line and racked up 10 goals and 35 points. He was named first-team all-ECAC.
In the offseason, both of his linemates left Clarkson.
