One person was killed Wednesday in a multi-vehicle crash in Commerce, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The wreck occurred about 12:55 p.m. on the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway near Washington Boulevard, according to the CHP.

One vehicle was reported to have overturned, though the CHP did not immediately confirm that detail.

All southbound lanes were initially shut down, with three of five later reopened as a SigAlert remained in effect.

CHP officials said the SigAlert was canceled at 4:50 p.m., and all lanes had since reopened following the investigation.
