ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
As of Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, there have been 616 unemployment claims filed in New Mexico since Oct. 1, according to the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions.
Wednesday marks three weeks since the government shutdown. Lawmakers failed to reach an agreement on stopgap funding measures and negotiations regarding health care tax credits, resulting in government operations being impacted through payment delays, furloughs and workforce disruption.
