TROUP, Texas — Troup ISD is looking to a pass a bond this November of $22,205,000. The bond, if approved, will provide upgrades to the high school and elementary school.
Troup's high school would receive new science classrooms and labs, new CTE classrooms and a new gymnasium.
"I don't even know if it's been updated 10 years prior to me graduating in 2005," Haden Riggs said.
Riggs was raised and educated in Troup as a boy. Now, all these years later, he has his own children who enrolled in the school district.
"I definitely want them to have more opportunities, whether that be in extracurriculars or just classroom size," he said.
The proposed bond would give the elementary school new classrooms, a cafeteria update and expansions to the school's kitchen.
Riggs knows the bond's approval
